Seniors-Programs Canceled through 4/30/2020

The City of Waukesha is working closely with Waukesha County Public Health Department to monitor the COVID-19.  Effective immediately, all Senior Programs (55+) will be canceled through April 4 following the new Mass Gathering Guidance provided by the Wisconsin Department of Health services.  The City of Waukesha under the direction of Waukesha County Public Health Department will be monitoring the situation and will re-evaluate in three weeks.  For program updates please call the information line at 262-522-9356, utilize TextCaster or check the City Website.

Canceled Classes Receiving Credits:

  • Aquasize (8500.145) – Session 2 cancelled with a full $36R/$54NR credit

  • Chair Yoga (8000.118) – Session 2 cancelled with a full $19R/$29NR credit

  • Senior Fit and Function (8000.105 & 8000.106) – Partial credit of $31.50R/$47NR

  • Senior Strength – (8000.111) – Partial credit of $29.75R/$45NR, (8000.114) $14R/$20NR credit, and (8000.116) $15.75R/$22NR credit

  • Senior Stretch and Yoga – (8000.110) – Partial credit of $36R/$54NR

  • Yoga (8000.120) – Partial credit of $19R/$28NR

  • Dartball (8500.118) – Partial credit of $5R/$7NR

  • Lunch and Theatre (8500.199) – Cancelled with a full $28 credit (everyone, no NR fee)

  • Wood Carving (8500.108) – Cancelled with a $15R/$23NR credit

  • AARP Smart Driver (8500.101) – Cancelled with a full $15 credit/$20 (non-AARP)

  • Knitting (8500.120) – Partial credit of $7.50R/$10NR

  • Needlework (8500.121) – Partial credit of $11.30R/$14.50NR

  • Mah Jongg Class (8500.122) – Partial credit of $10R/$15NR

  • Mah Jongg Meetups (8500.133 and 8500.134) – Partial Credit of $4R/$6NR

  • Painting Open Studio (8500.156) – Partial credit of $7R/$10NR

  • Pickleball Social, Competitive, Beginners, Saturdays (8000.172-8000.176 & 8000.178) – Partial Credit of $4R/$6NR, per day registered

  • Pickleball Advanced (8000.177) Partial Credit of $8R/$12NR

  • Passion Play – Senior Trip (8900.003) - $63 (everyone, no NR fee)

In addition, the following group activities have been suspended through April 4th:

Book Circle, Garden Group, Helping Hands, History Club, Trivia, Brown Bag Conversations, Bunco, Open Cards, Open Bridge, Senior Fun Bridge, BBAD – Bridge is Fun, and Golden Agers


WPRF will be issuing partial program credits for canceled classes.  Due to the volume, these credits will appear on your account before April 4.

Goals of the Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Senior Programs
  • To provide positive events that allow older adults to interact with other community members and build friendships making the community stronger, healthier and more supportive.
  • Implement activities that are pleasurable and improve health and well being.
  • Create opportunities for socialization on an ongoing basis.
  • Host activities that stimulate seniors intellectually.
  • Provide an opportunity that allows seniors to reminisce.
  • Develop a variety of activities to allow attendees to participate at many different levels (whether it is listening, talking, playing or watching).
  • To provide some opportunities to seniors free of charge.
