2021 Asphalt Resurfacing

Project Update: Sept. 10, 2021

The 2021 Asphalt Street Resurfacing Project is currently underway and includes the following work:

  • Storm sewer repairs and replacement 
  • Sidewalk and curb and gutter replacement
  • Pedestrian ramp replacement 
  • Asphalt milling and overlay 
  • Restorations as necessary

 

Current work:

Kensington/Harris Highland Neighborhood

  • Minor restorations are starting soon at Woodfield Park off Minaka Drive

 

Rambling Rose/Sunnyside Neighborhood

  • Asphalt surface paving – Starting Saturday 9/11
    • Anticipate 3-4 days of paving
    • No street parking allowed within project limits
  • Storm sewer repairs and replacement – Complete
  • Sidewalk and curb and gutter removals and replacements – Complete
  • Restorations - Complete

 

Meadow Lane Reconstruction (from N Grandview Blvd to approx. 300 feet south of Silvernail Road)

  • Storm sewer repairs and replacement – Complete
  • Sidewalk and curb and gutter removals and replacements – Complete
  • Asphalt Milling – Complete
  • Grading of base course – Complete
  • Asphalt Paving - Binder layer  – Complete
  • Spot restorations – Underway 
  • Asphalt Paving – Surface layer – Starting soon

 

Algoma Crestwood Neighborhood

  • Asphalt milling on Lander Ln., Tensleep Terrace, Cody Ct., Mucklestone Ct., Apple Tree Ct., S. View Ct. – Complete
  • Curb and gutter, pedestrian ramp and sidewalk removal  – Underway, nearing completion
  • Storm and Sanitary sewer repairs and replacement – Underway, nearing completion
  • Temporary patching  – Underway
  • Asphalt removal/milling – Starting next week
  • Landscaping/restorations – Starting upon completion of removals
  • Grading of base course – Starting upon completion of asphalt milling
  • Asphalt Paving – Starting in the upcoming weeks

 

Park and Rec. Parking Lot (Aviation Drive)

  • Pavement removals – Complete
  • Base grading – Complete
  • Concrete replacement – Complete
  • Restorations  – Starting next week
  • Asphalt paving anticipated to begin upon completion of restoration
  • Access to the building, mailbox and drop box will be maintained

 

Richard Street Neighborhood

  • Storm sewer repairs and replacement Starting next week
  • Curb and gutter, pedestrian ramp and sidewalk removal - Starting next week
  • Restorations – upon completion of concrete work
  • Asphalt milling
  • Grading of base course
  • Asphalt paving

 

Traffic updates for the week:

  • Streets in the construction zone are closed to thru traffic but open to local traffic
  • Access to business and residents will be maintained whenever possible 
  • Use caution in and around work zones
  • Have patience with construction related delays
