Join us prior to the City Council meeting to see on display the items to be included in the 125th Anniversary time capsule. Stay for the start of the meeting at 6:30pm for the sealing of the time capsule as we conclude our 125th Anniversary Celebrations.

History of Waukesha in 100 Objects, Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum

The History of Waukesha in 100 Objects exhibit draws together 100 objects that tell the social, economic, and political history of the City of Waukesha. From an Italian family's ravioli pot to a Waukesha engine schematic, the History of Waukesha in 100 Objects exhibit will showcase a range of items that help tell the story of Waukesha. Visit the museum during open hours to tour the exhibit.

Help us kick-off the 125th Anniversary year with 10 days of winter fun in the City. As part of this event you won’t want to miss the unveiling of the 125th Anniversary Beer from Raised Grain Brewery on Saturday, January 16 at noon. The Goose chase scavenger hunt will also feature items highlighting the City’s 125th Anniversary.

Spend 125 minutes making Waukesha better as we take care of our City for the future. Form a team and sign up to help pick up trash in a Waukesha park as part of Earth Day. Supplies will be provided. Registration required.

Stop by to help us wish Waukesha and the Library a very happy 125th anniversary with music, take-and-make activities, and free books while recognizing the history of Hispanic heritage in the City.

Pizza, Polka & Art in the Park

Tuesday, May 11, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., Frame Park Amphitheater

Join us in celebrating the unique relationship between the City of Waukesha, School District of Waukesha, and 4k Community Partners with a party in the Park. This event will showcase what school was like 125 years ago, feature 4k artwork, offer free pizza (while supplies last) and include live polka music.

In celebration of the City's 125th Anniversary, participants will be challenged to think about schoolhouses and school supplies 125 years ago. Slates (mini blackboards) will be away to participants (while supplies last).

Historic Preservation Days

These events bring local history to life for all ages. The Waukesha Preservation Alliance and partners are offering several activities that can be done virtually or through social distancing including a scavenger hunt, trivia, speaker event and more!

Buchnerfest and the Grand Opening of Buchner Park Pool

Saturday, June 12, 10:00 a.m. - Noon; Pool Party Noon - 2 p.m., Buchner Park

Head to Buchner Park for family friendly activities like time-period games, take & make kits, story reading, and more. After Buchnerfest, stay for the official grand re-opening of Buchner Pool at noon including a live DJ, best dressed swimmer of 1896 contest, dunk tank, and more! Registration required for Buchnerfest. The pool has free entrance admittance until 8pm.

Celebrate our City's history at our annual 4th of July Parade and Fireworks. The parade steps off at 11:00 am and winds through the streets of Downtown Waukesha. A 125th Anniversary Fireworks Salute will take place at the Waukesha County Expo Grounds.
