Hartwell Ave and Oxford Rd Improvements

Project Update: May 22, 2020

Over the last week the contractor/City has been reviewing video of the newly installed sanitary sewer/laterals/storm sewer. A few minor errors were caught while we were reviewing the video. The contractor plans on being out there tomorrow to correct these issues. The contractor will also be smoothing out the gravel tomorrow in preparation of the up and coming weekend.

Early next week the electrical contractor is scheduled to be onsite to make the repairs to the street lighting along Oxford and Hartwell. Late next week the contractor is hoping to start installing the new curb and gutter. When I hear for sure when this will occur I will send a follow up email, State contractors will also be handing out flyers on when residents will need to be out of their driveway.

During this time, S Hartwell Avenue (E Wabash Avenue to E Newhall Avenue) and Oxford Road (S East Avenue to S Hartwell Avenue) will be closed, but allowing access to local residents. Access to driveways within the project limits will be maintained until the concrete pavement or curb and gutter is placed.

Street Closings:

Hartwell Ave: Will be closed to through traffic from E. Newhall Ave to Wabash Ave.
Oxford Rd: Will be closed to through traffic from S. East Ave to S. Hartwell Ave.
Charles St: Will be closed to through traffic from Oxford Rd to Windsor Dr.
