The City Hall hallways have been brightened this month by art created by some of the artists from the Donna Lexa Art Center located in Waukesha on Wisconsin Ave.
The Donna Lexa Art Center began in 1985 and is an example of a successful non-profit that provides immeasurable community wide benefits. It supports the creative abilities of individuals with special needs such as cognitive and physical disabilities, individuals with mental health concerns and senior citizens dealing with the challenges of aging. The patrons of the Donna Lexa Art Center are taught art and create art because it strengthens self-esteem, fosters independence, and provides new ways to express feelings.
If you visit City Hall, take a moment to admire this artwork. If you are unable to visit, view the slideshow below with pictures of the pieces. We are grateful to have these beautiful pieces on display.
