2017 West Waukesha Bypass (Meadowbrook Road) Reconstruction Project Update

August 11, 2017

This week the contractor has completed pouring concrete pavement at the Rolling Ridge Dr., and Woodridge Ln. intersections, and also completed most of the placement of new curb and gutter throughout the new southbound lanes and side road intersections. They have also completed the removal of sidewalk on the west side of Meadowbrook Rd., and begun placing final topsoil in the terrace area in preparation for placing sod next week. The contractor plans to continue with work operations on Saturday (8/12), with minor areas of concrete placement and cleanup. They may also continue with topsoil placement in the terrace, and preparation for pouring the new sidewalk and ADA curb ramps. With the completion of the concrete pavement and curb and gutter placement at Woodridge Ln., the contractor will be closing Joann Dr., and opening Woodridge Ln. at Meadowbrook Rd., on Monday (8/14) at 6:00 AM.

Next week the contractor plans to complete the concrete pavement placement at the Joann Dr. intersection, pour the new sidewalk on the west side of Meadowbrook Rd., begin the final sod placement in the terrace, and continue placing new signal equipment at Rolling Ridge Dr. Weather permitting, they may also begin the asphalt placement at the side roads, and north end of the project in preparation for switching traffic to the new southbound lanes. Just to look ahead in the schedule, the contractor is tentatively planning on opening up Rolling Ridge Dr., and also switching traffic to the new southbound lanes in the next 1.5-2 weeks. They have been accelerating their schedule to open up Rolling Ridge Dr., and switch traffic as soon as possible. I will update everyone one a more definitive schedule is known.

Also in conjunction with the roadway work, there will be minor grading operations within Meadowview Park for the future bio-filtration basins occurring.
